Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

1 April 2020 update:

We have been actively responding to the COVID-19 virus currently impacting people and businesses globally. The health and safety of every person working at Evolution, their families and our communities remains paramount during this time.

Evolution has developed plans to minimise risks to our people and ensure we can continue to safely produce gold during this challenging period. These plans include activation of crisis management protocols, suspending international travel, restricting domestic travel, reducing face-to-face interaction, increasing flexible working arrangements, regular COVID-19 communication with the entire workforce and ensuring best practice health management is maintained at all times.

There have not been any cases of an Evolution employee or contractor testing positive to COVID-19. Evolution continues to work closely with regulators and industry groups to ensure all our operations are complying with agreed protocols and any changing needs.

To date there has been no material impact on Evolution’s operations from the COVID-19 virus.
At Evolution’s 100% owned Australian operations, only Cracow has a fly-in fly-out (FIFO) workforce. With 97% of Cracow’s workforce residing in Queensland, cross-border travel restrictions have not impacted the operation.

20 March 2020 update:

Our highest priority is to ensure every person working at Evolution and their families are healthy and safe. As COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to spread globally, Evolution has developed plans to minimise risks to our people and ensure we can continue to safely produce gold during this challenging period.

Steps taken by Evolution to protect our people, families and local communities:

  • Travel
All international travel has been suspended. Domestic travel is restricted to critical operational activity only.
  • Health and Safety of Operations and Head Office
Each Evolution site has worked through a risk assessment and developed strategies to minimise the risk to our people and the interruption to operations. This includes reviewing office and site working arrangements to support smaller work units, reducing face to face meetings and offering flexible work arrangements which align to business continuity. All Evolution sites have action plans in place in the event of an Evolution employee or contractor requiring medical treatment or testing.
  • Communications
Regular updates are being provided to all employees via email and through our internal Novel Coronavirus portal which includes Frequently Asked Questions and links to informative websites. We encourage all our people to continue to stay engaged and support each other through this difficult period. A confidential Employee Assistant Program support line is also available for all employees.
